Wendling Quarries believes in being involved in enhancing and supporting the communities where our employees work and live. We believe in giving our time, materials, and monetary donations to worthy causes in our communities. Our company and employees have come together on numerous occasions to support causes that range from the Skeffington Race, to Jr. Achievement, to Camp Courageous.
Part of this involvement includes the education of our youth. We have programs in place where our safety personnel go to the classroom and give presentations on safety awareness. We are also active in supporting the Boy Scouts of America. Our latest educational program included having the scouts visit us at our Dewitt location in order to work on their Geology Merit badge. The slideshow below shows the hard work they all put into this achievement.
Wendling Quarries is proud to be a part of Springville’s Operation Backpack Program. This program provides school children with nutritious, kid-friendly foods each Friday that school is in session. The food is packed by volunteers, and each child brings home about 6.5 pounds of food per week. To help raise funds for the program Springville held their first extreme quarry run. This was a 5k race through Wendling Quarries’s Bowser Quarry. The race was held August 10th, 2013 with 170 runners participating.
