On August 11th we celebrated the 60th anniversary of Wendling Quarries. The event was held at the Springville (Bowser) quarry with an open house. Games and tours were enjoyed by all participants along with a delicious lunch. Approximately 2, 400 people were in attendance and 900 dollars were raised in goodwill donations that will be used by the Springville Fire and EMS department.
We would like to thank all that attended and for all the hard work that our volunteers put in that made this event a huge success!

With the gracious support of Wendling Quarries, the committee from the Extreme Quarry Race will be handing a check for $5,500 to the Springville Playground Fund prior to the start of the varsity football game this Friday night. We are all proud of the part we played in this donation and look forward to continuing our support for the betterment of the Springville community.
The Skeffington was a big hit this year as Wendling Quarries had its biggest turnout with 48 people wearing the tiger print Wendling shirt. We hope to see this number grow next year.
Want to experience some great views while getting some exercise? Join the annual Springville Quarry run that will take you through the Bowser quarry. The race is on August 13, 2016 and starts in Springville. For more information just click on the link in the left hand bar to read more.
Although the number of participants were down, 217 from 271 last year, the quarry run helped to raise funds for the City of Springville’s Community Trails Project. This trail will be a cross country running and biking trail in Springville that will eventually connect with the Grant Wood Trail south of town. Everyone enjoys this event and the chance to run through the quarry and the tunnel. We are expecting to see even more participation next year as more people become aware of the event.
